Annie Staples (nee Good)

After trawling through the Brisbane Cemetery records I finally tracked down the final resting place of Annie Staples (nee Good). She is, in fact, resting not far from her son Percy Staples.

Location Details: Lutwyche Cemetery, Cnr Lutwyche and Kitchener Rds, Kedron. (UBD Ref: Map 139 R1)
Part: Monumental, Portion: 1, Section: 63A, Grave No.: 57.

I visited the cemetery during my June visit to Qld, but was unable to locate it myself then, as the graves are not numbered this way visually. I ended up taking sequenced photos of every plot to bring home and do grave searches online trying to pin down just who she was next to. After many searches (there are many unmarked plots) I finally located the exact plot. If you decide to look for the grave yourself - she is in the right hand row of Section 63A, sixth from the start - the grave preceding that of John Cannel. It has a concreted surround, but no headstone.

The official cemetery records list her as being buried on 10 Feb 1941, aged 80.

Here is a photo taken on a recent trip. (July 24)

I have not been able to locate a listing for her husband Thomas in any of the Cemetery Records for Brisbane.

Apologies

Apologies to all and sundry. So much has happened on the research front in the past month and I haven't had the time to update you. My New (Fiscal) Year's Resolution is to be more diligent in my online endeavours, and spend less time as a couch potato.

Hope to share amazing news very soon.

Rest in Peace, Darling Keith

Only 13 mths ago, you sat on your brother Robert's grave and told him Dad was coming to keep him company, and now my darling Keith you are with them too. It has been 15 years since the accident that saw Robert leave us, and you end up in hospital, but now you are together again...

It seems so cruel, for your mother (my cousin) to know such grief; losing her mother so young, then a baby, a teenage son, battling cancer, then losing her partner last year, now you... There is only Danny left...

But the cruelest of all, darling, it is your birthday tomorrow, and you are no longer here to celebrate it with us...

Forever 25...

Rest in Peace, darling cousin.

Whew!

So after spending the last 8 hours poring over html and css codes I finally have a working template I am relatively happy with. If there is one thing I learned through all of this, it's that when it comes to code, just fake it till it works!!!! Eventually it all makes sense....

Welcome

Welcome to my very first 'post'. I am hoping that this site will make it easier to exchange family research notes, however, I guess only time will tell.
